TCGHA FAQs

Does the TCGHA have a team?
Yes! TCGHA currently has two teams playing in the 2006-07 winter season. The Orion is comprised of gay, lesbian, and gay-friendly players from around the Twin Cities. The teams play in the Adult Hockey Association C2 and D1 levels.

Our members also play in local leagues (such as AHA and WHAM) and some have traveled to GLBT hockey tournaments. Members recently participated in the Gay Games in Chicago and took home the silver in the Mens and Womens Divisions.

Is TCGHA sponsored?
The association is building relationships with sponsors, and we’re interested in speaking with new sponsors! If you’re interested in partnering with the TCGHA, please contact us. We have opportunities to sponsor social events, jerseys, ice time, even the possibility of a future tournament.

TCGHA currently thanks the following sponsors for their support:

Lavender Magazine, Platinum Exclusive Media Sponsor Web Site
Townhouse Bar Web Site

The TCGHA is committed to maintaining a community presence as ambassadors to Minnesota’s State of Hockey!

Does it cost anything to join?

Not at all!
We have not established membership dues at this point. At our open hockey sessions, we charge a flat $10 to participants for an hour’s worth of ice. Any funds left over help cover future events. We are incorporated as a Minnesota non-profit agency. Our open skating can cost as little as $3 for an hour and a half of ice time, and you don’t need any equipment. In-Line at the lakes during the summer is FREE if you bring your own blades. For those looking to learn the game, local beginner leagues offer beginner-level hockey games and instruction. TCGHA has also offered practice ice times at a nominal fee. An open skate with the TCGHA can be a great way to find your legs, without making a commitment. Contact the TCGHA if you would like more information on local opportunities to learn the great game of Hockey.

How can I contribute to TCGHA?

If you would like to contribute, please stop by one of our fundraisers at Townhouse for more information.

Do I need to be gay to join or play with the TCGHA?
