About TCGHA
Everyone is invited to play and enjoy the sport of hockey with TCGHA! Regardless of your sexual orientation, age, background, race or gender, we can help you start your hockey career. We also welcome fans who would like to watch and learn about hockey.
TCGHA was formed to provide a safe place for gays, lesbians and our straight allies to enjoy hockey. We’re not alone! There are hundreds of gay hockey players in over a dozen groups worldwide. Our association is more than just the game. Although hockey brings us all together, the friendships and camaraderie make TCGHA special.
We provide opportunities for players with all levels of hockey experience. New players can learn from more experienced players; anyone can join a pickup game or take part in an international tournament. We also host open skates for folks who would like to meet the group in a recreational setting.
The TCGHA is a young organization; this year will mark our fifth season of organized hockey. We are a growing group of men and women who enjoy playing hockey. Some of us have been playing hockey for many years; others are just learning. Regardless of your previous hockey experience, current skill level or sexual orientation –the TCGHA is a fun and inclusive sports organization and social group.
Our objectives are simple. We want to be able to offer to our members:
Objectives:
- An environment where any person who wants to compete or learn to play hockey can play on aTCGHA team that matches their talent level.
- A structure in which our players can play competitive, real games against competitive opponents – in a central rink, minimizing time conflicts and cost.
- A structure in which our TCGHA teams control our own direction and are responsible for scheduling our games and competitive opponents on our terms versus bound by a huge league.
